Atlético de Kolkata’s marquee man Helder Postiga played his part during his side’s 3-2 win over Mumbai City FC in the first leg of the first semi-final of Hero Indian Super League 2016 at the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium in Kolkata on Saturday. The Portuguese striker earned his team a penalty on the stroke of half-time, which was dispatched with confidence by Iain Hume to settle the first leg in favour of the hosts. Postiga completed 81 minutes on the night before being substituted by Javi Lara as ATK tried to extend their 3-2 aggregate lead heading into the second leg. The 34-year-old spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the game and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts from the interview. Are you happy with the result? It was fantastic. The atmosphere was great in the stadium. We are happy with the result. It could have been better but a win is a win. Now we look forward for the next leg against MCFC.ATK went up early in the game but then quickly went down, so what are your views on the comeback?Sometimes it can happen in a game. Mumbai scored from two set-pieces in quick succession. It was a little frustrating for us but the victory is the most important thing.Do you think ATK could have scored more goals? You never know. The most important thing is the victory and we showed a lot of patience and deserved the victory. What are your views on the atmosphere, which was electrifying tonight? It was brilliant, almost as good as the atmosphere last year. The noise in the stadium was just fantastic and very important for us.Do you think the tie is still open, despite this result for you?The away game is going to be difficult but I hope we qualify for the final.
