Sandip Nandy (left) and Nirmal Chettri of Kerala Blasters take stock of the proceedings in Kochi.Sandip Nandy played his third game for the Kerala Blasters FC and helped his side to a goalless draw against NorthEast United FC on Thursday night. The 39-year-old Indian international goalkeeper kept a clean sheet and won the Hero of the Match award for his several saves, but was downcast due to the loss of two vital points that might have propelled Kerala to just a win away from the semi-finals. The much decorated goalkeeper, who has played for the country’s leading clubs and won several domestic and international honours, spoke to indiansuperleague.com in a post-match exclusive about today’s game and his individual performance. How do you feel about the result today?I am a little disappointed because I think we missed out on three points today and it would have really helped us to qualify. It was a tough game and we really played well in the first 20 minutes, but I’m just disappointed that we lost the two points.Do you think that was a red card (for James Keene)?I don’t know, the referee’s decision is final and I can’t say anything about that."It’s really nice playing for a crowd of more than 40,000 people."Sandip NandyYou had a good game yourself, but how do you think your team performed? It was a do or die situation, in the last 10 minutes we went all out to get the goal. It was an important game for them too, so both teams were fighting to get the goal. The team pushed very high in the first 20 minutes, was that the game plan? It’s like I said, it was a do or die match, so that’s why we were pushed so high in the first and the last 20 minutes. How do you feel about your individual performance?I’m quite happy that I kept a clean sheet but also a little disappointed that we lost out on the three points. How does it feel like playing in front of such a big crowd? It’s really nice playing for a crowd of more than 40,000 people.
