André Moritz (in white) makes his move.André Moritz has played all of Mumbai City FC’s seven games in the Hero Indian Super League this inaugural season. The Brazilian attacking midfielder is one of the side’s key creative forces, with his vision and ability to pick a pass. He is also the only player to score a hat trick in the ISL so far. Although he made headlines for that performance, Moritz realizes his main role for Mumbai is to create chances for his teammates. After his side’s goalless draw against FC Goa in an closely-fought encounter, indiansuperleague.com caught up with Mumbai City’s star playmaker.A draw against Goa, how difficult was that game?It is always a difficult game when you play away. I mean, it’s good to get a point and we wanted to win the game, but circumstances were hard today. A point is good. Can Mumbai City’s performances be judged as inconsistent, taking your performances into account?I always do my best on the pitch. I am not a player who scores every game, I’m a midfield player. I play to provide goals, I’m not there to score goals. But of course, if I have my chances I will try to score and do my best. We have a really good team and we’ve been working hard right now and it’s good to get a point like I said. It’s always good to win points against a good team away from home. How do you compare playing in Europe to playing in the ISL?It’s absolutely different, the football, the weather, everything is different. And of course, the level in Europe is much higher, but I think if India keeps going this way, which is the right way, then, they will have a really good team in 5-6 years.A word on your coach Peter Reid? He’s a fantastic guy, he’s always open to conversation and if you need to talk to him, you can simply approach him and talk. He’s a really experienced manager and he knows how to carry the team and what to do.
