Mumbai City FC will go into their home tie against Chennaiyin FC in confident mood after a staggering turnaround to their Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2018-19 season. A win on Thursday could see the Islanders climb up to second in the table.

Ahead of the fixture, indiansuperleague.com caught up for an exclusive interview with the Islanders player Milan Singh. Here are a few excerpts from the same.

Thoughts on the season so far.

At the start of the season we took a lot of time to settle down. The team is working hard on the training pitch even in the back. So, we are improving a lot from the last five matches. So, the team is doing really good.

Thoughts on Mumbai City FC's defense.

We do what we have practiced on the training grounds. We practice with the coach and we do what the coach wants us to do and he wanted simple things and that helps to be compact defensively and help each other. So, we keep things simple and this is how we do.

On playing against Chennaiyin FC.

Chennaiyin FC is a good team. We know how they play at home matches but now it's our home and we are fully prepared for them. So, our target is to get three points and then we have a lot of confidence from our last match against Delhi Dynamos FC as we came from behind and won the match by 4-2. It is a positive point for us. So, we will try to get the three points.

Given Mumbai City's impressive form, are you considered one of the favorites for the play-off stages?

Yeah so far, our team has been playing good, and we are working on our best level. Everyone is putting their best effort for each and every part. So, our target is to get in the semi-finals but before that, we need to prepare more and be ready for that.
