Having lost their last match against Chennaiyin FC, Bengaluru FC will look to bounce back with a victory over the resurgent Delhi Dynamos FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday. The Blues have already qualified for the play-offs owing to the result of the Jamshedpur FC vs FC Pune City match on Saturday, but will be eager to regain their lost momentum leading into the semis.

Before the match, indiansuperleague.com caught up with Bengaluru striker Miku to talk about his comeback from injury and the road ahead. Here are the excerpts.

How has your return from injury been so far?

Every day, I feel better. It was a long injury. It wasn't a muscle problem. I got two big kicks on my ankle and I had a long recovery period from this pain. But now, I am fit again and I've started to play. Every day, I'm feeling better and we are thinking about the semi-finals. So, I am happy to come back and will try and help the team.

Is Carles Cuadrat rotating the side to give senior players rest for the semi-finals?

Yes, I think so. The coach manages those kinds of things. He gives minutes to every player to show their quality. We have a big team. Not just big players. We have other young players who have great quality and they can play and show what they have to offer on the field. So, I think after we get a lot of points, the coach would be thinking to give that time and support to the kids.

Has the mood in the camp changed following the loss to Chennaiyin FC?

That's normal. This team has a good mentality. We don't care what happens in every match because we forget, easily. Last season, we lost the (Hero ISL) final against them (Chennaiyin FC) and then we won the (Hero Super) Cup very easily. This season again, we are on course to finish the league stage on top and they aren't going to qualify for the semi-finals. So, in the end, if you see the performance we have put in across the last two seasons, we have been top of the league. We have been unbeaten for more matches than any other team in the league. So, it is clear that we have the best team in the league.

Is the momentum with Delhi Dynamos FC considering your result in the last match?

No, that is a normal thing in football. You can win, draw or lose but you never think about just one match that will change your mind or influence the way you play and how you see the quality of the performance in the whole league. You need to see the league as a whole and after you've finished the season, you can think about what you did well and what needs to be improved for the next season.

Are you raring to get back among the goals after your injury?

Yes, but I am not thinking solely about that. I prepare to be a champion because last season, I scored a lot of goals but I lost the title in the last match. So, I was very disappointed about that because I think, if you are a champion goal scorer but you don't win the league, then it stands for nothing. So, I think football is a team sport and the most important thing at all times is the team and not any one individual.
