FC Pune City will be seeking their fourth victory on a trot when they host ATK at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Pune on Sunday. After a torrid start to the season, the Stallions are in the midst of a mini resurgence of sorts and will look to continue their form to end the season on a positive note.

Before the match, indiansuperleague.com interviewed Pune defender Matt Mills. Here are the excerpts.

Do you feel the team is more confident now?

Yeah, definitely. Obviously, winning matches breeds confidence. As you mentioned and as I’ve said in previous interviews, pre-season wasn’t great and we didn’t start the season well. Prads (Pradyum Reddy) came in and really steadied the ship and now, the new manager has taken over. The confidence is still there after the break and the boys are in great spirits.

Thoughts on new head coach Phil Brown.

For me, personally, I think he’s given everybody a chance to show what they’re about. He puts a lot of trust in the players and bestows a lot of responsibility on the players. I think the players are striving because of that. We’ve obviously kept the formation the same as we did before the break. The manager has worked a lot on organization and as you can see from the last result, it paid off. Fingers crossed that there are more wins to come.

What is the team’s mindset ahead of the match against ATK?

Everyone knows their job. As I said, the manager has come in, he’s made it clear of what he wants from everybody. So the boys are confident knowing what they have to do.

Who do you think is ATK’s biggest threat?

From when we played them at their place, I thought Lanza (Manuel Lanzarote) was good and since then, they’ve brought the lad in - (Edu) Garcia. I’ve watched a couple of matches he has played in and he has done well.
