Florent Malouda completed the full 90 minutes in Delhi Dynamos FC’s 2-0 win over FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Sunday. The win took the Lions up to third place in the 2016 Hero Indian Super League table and Malouda played a crucial role in his side’s win. He provided two keys passes in the match, including the cross that helped Marcelinho set up Richard Gadze for Delhi’s second goal. The French talisman, who ended the game with a passing accuracy of 83%, spoke to indiansuperleague.com in an exclusive interview after the match. Here are the excerpts. It’s a great win away from home. What is your initial reaction?Firstly, very happy with the result as we came with a winning mindset. We have a lot of games with draws and a loss so we really needed a win to get the confidence back and to get it here, as last year I remember we struggled to win a game here, and we have always struggled here. To get a win here, it is a good return for our training seasons.Goa started off very well in the first half, so what did you discuss during half time to turn things around?Yeah, we had a talk and decided to show strong character and we expected a strong start from Goa because they had their backs against the wall and they needed to pressure us and at half time we said we had to play like an adult team and not like a junior team and we needed to show more passion to turn things around to make a result and expect a mistake from them in the game and then kill the game if we had an opportunity and that’s exactly what Marcelinho did when he came on and he took his responsibilities and that’s what we need from the team.Lastly, it was one brilliant individual goal and one team goal. What do you have to say about that?Yeah, that’s been a scheme we have been working on and yeah we have been unlucky and at times we were not very accurate in the last pass and we have had many opportunities to score good collective goals and the focus was not there, so that is where we need to improve to make our last touch more clinical in order for us to reach our target.
