Chennaiyin FC slumped to their 13th loss of the season as they went down 1-0 against FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Thursday. Ferran Corominas' first-half strike proved to be the difference between the two sides on the night.

After the match, indiansuperleague.com caught up with Goa midfielder Lenny Rodrigues. Here are the excerpts of his post-match interview.

Thoughts on the match.

I think we played as a team and this season is a wonderful and great season for us.

Thoughts on the tactical setup for today.

I think our philosophy is to play the way our coaches teach us in training. In midfield, (Ahmed) Jahouh is a very good player. He keeps the ball and his long passes have quality. He and I always do well together.

Thoughts on the team’s performance in the league stage.

Throughout the league, I think, we have done very well and my teammates are doing well. The striker Ferran Corominas is the main man who gives us an attacking edge.

What is the mindset going into the semi-finals?

I don’t want to say anything about that but still, if the gaffer is giving the instructions, we have to follow that.

Thoughts on the consistency of the defence.

I think it was the coach’s decision to make the defence stronger. I’m helping the team (defensively), so it’s a morale boost for the team, I think.

How excited are you to play in the semi-finals?

Last season also I played and this time I want to win the final. Also, playing in the semi-final is a big thing for me and winning the Hero ISL will be great.

From Chennaiyin's end, Gregory Nelson shared his thoughts on the loss and what has been a disappointing season for the team.

Thoughts on the match.

I think we played an okay match. I think they had most of the ball possession but they weren’t really dangerous. Then, Ferran Corominas is a very dangerous striker. He only needs one chance, he got the one chance and he scored the goal. 1-0 and they win the match.

Do you think some of the half chances could’ve been converted?

Yes, with a little bit of luck. They didn’t go in but that’s football. With a little bit of luck maybe, we could have scored a few of those or one of those chances, but today, they didn’t go in. So yeah, that’s it!

Are you happy that it was just a one-goal deficit?

I don’t think they had enough chances to make it 3-0. 1-0 or 3-0, it’s still a loss and to me, it feels the same. Of course, if you lose 5-0 it’s a little bit more hurtful, but a loss is a loss. So, we’re a little bit disappointed.
