NorthEast United FC bagged their first win at home in Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 after handing FC Goa their third defeat of the season at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday. Laxmikant Kattimani was left helpless in goal as the Highlanders showcased how clinical they can be for the first time this season under the influence of the new management. Speaking to indiansuperleague.com after the game, the custodian rued his team’s missed chances, but was upbeat about the upcoming schedule. Here are the excerpts.

Thoughts on the game?

It was a tough game for us but our boys gave it their all. We missed some chances and that’s the difference as they scored from their chances.

What was said at half-time?

Just go out and give your best. Whatever chance we get, we must score and win the match. But, the opposite happened.

Any particular reason why it didn’t click tonight?

We can’t point out at any single reason as it is a game and it can happen to any team. We tried but couldn’t score. They got their chances, they scored and that’s it.

How will you’ll approach the upcoming matches?

Just keep going, keep up the hard work and hopefully we get the three points in Goa.
