India suffered their second loss on a trot in the Hero Intercontinental Cup 2019 as they went down 5-2 against DPR Korea at the EKA Arena in Ahmedabad on Saturday. The Blue Tigers conceded three in the first 45 minutes but tried to fight back in the second-half with goals from Sunil Chhetri and Lallianzuala Chhangte.

After the match, indiansuperleague.com caught up with Chhangte, who scored India's first goal of the match to try and kickstart a comeback. Here are the excerpts:

What was the difference between the first-half and the second-half?

In the first-half, we were a little bit sloppy and we couldn't create any chances. But in the second-half, we did really well in the first 10 minutes and then we again conceded goals from our own mistakes. All we have to do is learn from our mistakes and be ready for the next match.

Your thoughts on this match compared to the last one against Tajikistan.

In the match against Tajikistan, we were playing really good in the first-half but lost control in the second-half. We couldn't implement what we learnt on the training pitch and conceded goals due to our own mistakes. So, all we can do is learn from our mistakes and get ready to put up a better fight against Syria.

How do you think that the team is shaping up for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers?

It takes time to build up a good team. We aren't used to playing too much with the ball on the ground. We are learning now and we are trying to show it on the field. We need to work on that really really hard.
