Duwayne Kerr will be hoping for a fourth start in Hero Indian Super League 2016 when Chennaiyin FC host Kerala Blasters FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Saturday. The Jamaican custodian has completed four clearances, 15 saves and 21 catches for the Super Machans this year and will be looking to solidify his side's position in the top 4 with a win in the first southern derby of the season. Speaking to indiansuperleague.com on Friday, Kerr shared his thoughts on what is certain to be a high-octane contest in Chennai. Here are the excerpts from the interview. You have played in leagues all around the world and now you are here at Chennaiyin FC, how does this compare in terms of quality of football? The quality of football here is good compared to the Scandinavians. You have to be more focused to avoid mistakes because you will pay for your mistakes. That is how it is in football, you pay for your mistakes. You just need to learn from them and be a better player.Which Indian player has impressed you the most?We have a lot of good Indian players. However, I would say Mehrajuddin Wadoo, he is a professional, always spot on and always ready to play. I think he is a good role model for the players here in India. How is playing under Marco Materazzi? How is it shaping your career? It has been good with Marco Materazzi so far and also with the goalkeeping coach. It has been a good experience for me because I have learnt a lot. I feel I have improved after coming here, which is very important to me.It's your first season in India and the fans have taken to you, always cheering you and you have acknowledged that. How important is the support of the home crowd?Without the fans there wouldn't be football. Football is an entertaining sport and you need the fans to support you. The fans keep you going but if they are against you, it is not going to help your confidence, if they are going to say bad things about you. But the fans here are helping a lot and always supporting and cheering us and we hope we can win the trophy for them.
