Jamshedpur FC will be at home to play their final match of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2018-19 season against table toppers Bengaluru FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Wednesday. Having failed to qualify for the semi-final stages, the Miners will be looking to end their season with a flourish in front of the home fans.

Before the match, indiansuperleague.com caught up with Jamshedpur defender Karan Amin. Here's what he had to say.

Thoughts on Jamshedpur FC's season.

To be very honest, we're really proud of the team and of what we've achieved. Even though we're fifth right now and we missed out on the semi-final qualification, I think the team, as a whole, did really well. I think we only lost three matches and the results were good. We scored a lot of goals. Overall, the football that we played was really good.

Is the team frustrated after finishing fifth for a second consecutive season?

Obviously, the whole purpose of the season is to win the league. Every player wants to win the trophy, be happy and celebrate with their family and friends. Last season we finished fifth. It went down to the last day. This time, the thing was that we didn't beat Chennaiyin FC. So, we didn't qualify. So, it is more frustrating and hurtful because you are so close yet so far.

Did the international break play a role in the outcome of the top-four race?

Obviously. If you see, the league turned completely after the international break. We did really well and we didn't lose matches at the start. But then we didn't pick up enough wins. There were a couple of draws which could have been avoided. Obviously, nobody goes for a draw. We always went for wins.

Thoughts on the fan support this season.

Jamshedpur is really a special place to play at. You have a full house every day. Be it rain. Be it anything. The support has been really good. Every match, they turn up in numbers. As you know, there are people outside all the time, even when we train. So, it is really special to have such fans. We're really blessed.

Thought on facing Bengaluru FC.

Bengaluru FC are a good team. They've always been a good team. Last season, they qualified in pole position. This season too. They have really good players and I think they will want to win against us but we'll try to not make it easy for them and come out with a win.
