Kerala Blasters FC breathed plenty of life into their Hero ISL 2016 campaign after beating FC Goa 2-1 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Tuesday evening. Rafael Coelho put the Goans ahead in the ninth minute before goals from Kervens Belfort and CK Vineeth set up the win for the Blasters. The match also witnessed two red-cards, shown to Goan players Gregory Arnolin and Richarlyson. Kerala’s 23-year-old Spanish midfielder Josu Currais spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the match and shared his thoughts on the win that has propelled the Blasters to fourth position in the standings. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
What are your thoughts on the match?
It was a tough game because we conceded early but the team found a way to win and we got three points, so I’m happy.
What do you have to say about Vineeth’s goal in extra time?
I’m very happy for him, he joined the team today and he scored. So I’m very happy for him.
How is it going for you this season?
I feel comfortable and confident and I’m doing my job, so I’m very happy.
Are you looking forward to the next match against Chennaiyin FC at home?
Yeah of course, our support is amazing. I wouldn’t mind having all 14 games at home.
