Jakub Podaný scored his second goal of the Hero Indian Super League for Atlético De Kolkata in a 1-1 draw against FC Pune City on Saturday night. The Czech midfielder bulged the net with a resounding header to give his side the lead in the 11th minute but the hosts fought back to force a draw at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Balewadi, Pune.A product of the famed youth system at Czech club Sparta Praha, Podaný praised the crowd despite being at the receiving end of the ire of home fans. Interestingly, Podaný is one of the players in the ISL who enjoys a 100% shot accuracy in his five games for Kolkata. Post the match, the 27-year-old left winger/left back spoke to indiansuperleague.com and reiterated his team’s intentions to finish on top of the league table. What are your thoughts on the draw today? We wanted to win but we conceded the equaliser just before the interval so it was our mistake; next time we have to win. What do you say about your goalkeeper Edel Aboula Bete?He did what he had to do and he showed that he’s very good at it. I thought (Kostas) Katsouranis took a very good shot and he saved it, so thanks to him it was only a draw. What did the manager tell you at half time before you went in?We changed the tactics a little bit. He wanted me to go into the middle a little bit more and we wanted to play better so he told us to hold the ball and keep possession. What are your thoughts on the crowd? I like it when the crowd is loud, I like it when they’re supporting their team so it was nice to play for them and I would like to thank them. You are still in the top half of the table, what is your realistic aim now? We are aiming for the first position, that’s all we want.
