Kerala Blasters will play their eighth match of Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2018-19 when they travel north to face NorthEast United FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Friday. The Blasters will be looking to end their six-game run but will have to be wary of the Highanders’ threat.

Ahead of the fierce encounter, indiansuperleague.com caught up with Kerala duo Seiminlen Doungel and Halicharan Narzary, who were former players of NorthEast. Here are the excerpts from the interview:

Is there an added advantage as you two have played together before?

-- Seiminlen Doungel: We were in NorthEast United FC together last season. So, there is an understanding between us and it has grown more as we play together in Kerala Blasters FC. Hopefully, we will win the match against NorthEast United FC.

How comfortable are the both of you in the positions that you play?

Halicharan Narzary: Basically, I like to play on the wings, but I have played as a striker before in the U16's and U19's but now they prefer if I play as a winger.

Seiminlen Doungel : I used to play as a striker but now I prefer to play on the wings. Last season, I used to play as a striker. For me, it depends on the situation and I can adjust well to the positions. So, it is not a problem for me.

How do you spend your break time?

Seiminlen Doungel : Halicharan goes for the national duty but we try and get some rest and recover 100%. That is very important for us and we all do that.

On facing your former team NorthEast United FC

Halicharan Narzary: We have played here last season and our situation is not that great. So, we need to get the win here and let's see how the fans will react when we come on the ground, how their behaviour is as we have to win this match.

On Kerala Blasters FC's recent form

Halicharan Narzary: Basically, this match is very important for us and we need to win. So, we will try our best as it is very important for us to finish in the top four. We need to score goals and we need to win this match.
