Gouramangi Singh will be looking to vanquish the memories of FC Pune City’s 1-0 defeat to Mumbai City FC in their 2016 Hero ISL season opener when they face FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Saturday. One of the better players on the pitch for the Stallions against Mumbai, Gouramangi attempted 46 passes and made two blocks as well as two interceptions for his side in defence. The 30-year-old, who is now in his second season with the Maharashtra club, spoke to indiansuperleague.com ahead of Saturday’s game. Here are the excerpts from the interview. You had a good performance in the first game. Do you see yourself being a regular part of the defence?I think the only thing as a player I can do is keep working hard and do what the coach asks me to do in training and be available for selection.First match away from home for FC Pune City, is there any added pressure on the team because of that?I don’t think there is any added pressure. We all are used to it and now it is not something new. You know it’s definitely going to be a difficult game because Goa is playing at home and I am looking forward to the tough game and getting the three points. What sort of game-plan will you be going in with tomorrow, offensive or defensive?I think that is something that the coach will tell us tomorrow in the team meeting, like I said what we all can do is go out there and work hard and listen to what the coach is saying and asks us to do. So we just got to stick to the coach’s plan. How does it feel to share the dressing room with a legend like Mohamed Sissoko?Yeah, it’s always a great experience to have senior players who have played at the highest level .So it’s always a good experience to learn from them and to enjoy.
