Mumbai City FC fell short in front of Bengaluru FC’s dominating attacking display that saw the visitors hand them a 3-1 loss at the Mumbai Football Arena on Thursday. Sunil Chhetri’s brace against his former team combined with Miku’s free-kick took the match away from the Islanders, even though Leo Costa gave them some hope by pulling one back. Mumbai’s defence was left wanting as Bengaluru breached it thrice, and speaking to indiansuperleague.com after the match was the home team’s Brazilian defender Gerson Vieira. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

Your thoughts on the match?

I am very sad, trust me. No one likes to lose a match. We have to fight more in the next matches to return to victory.

How important is Achille Emana’s role in the middle of the park?

He is a very good player and I am very glad that we have him on our team. It's a pleasure for me to play alongside him. But we have other very good players as well. We have a good team and I have to value everything.

What do you think Mumbai need to do to reach the top four?

We are making some mistakes that are disgusting. I think we have to solve these situations and ensure we don't commit any more errors.

Any message to the fans?

I want to say that playing at home, we are watching our fans and what they are doing for us. It's a big pleasure. Mumbai City FC fans are different. We will fight in the next match and get a win.
