ATK lock horns against in-form Mumbai City FC at the Mumbai Football Arena on Saturday. The two-time Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) champions are currently sixth in the table with ten points from seven matches and will be looking to bag all three points from the match in order to stay relevant in the race for a playoff spot.

Before the all-important match, indiansuperleague.com managed to have a chat with ATK's Gerson Vieira, who played for the Islanders in the last two editions of the Hero ISL. Here are the excerpts.

Thoughts on the match and being back in Mumbai.

Yeah, I’m very excited to be back here in this city. I am actually a little bit anxious to be at the Mumbai Football Arena again but I have to wait and be patient.

Thoughts on your first goal for ATK.

It was very good. This is the kind of moment that you never forget in your life. I was just very happy that I could enjoy that time a lot and celebrate with my teammates. With my family also because they were there then. It was a very special moment in my life.

Do you prefer playing as a centre-back or a defensive midfielder?

For me, it’s a pleasure that I can do what head coach Steve Coppell requires and asks from me. Whenever and whatever he wants me to do, I’ll do my best. For me, the important thing is helping ATK to achieve their goals.

What does the team need to do to make the playoffs?

I think we have to keep on working hard and playing with confidence just like we have been doing. We have to listen properly to the instructions of coach Coppell and also play with competitive spirit. We need to play as a unit and to stick together. So, no matter what happens, we have to be like a team.

Have you learnt any Bengali in your time in Kolkata?

Dhonnobaad Kolkata fans. They are very good to me. Kolkata - the City of Joy is more than khub bhalo! I hope to play in Salt Lake stadium as soon as possible. So see you all there and it is always a pleasure.
