Eduardo Ferreira had a busy night at the heart of defence for FC Pune City during their 1-1 draw against Chennaiyin FC at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Balewadi on Sunday. The hosts fell behind after a spectacular finish by Jeje Lalpekhlua gave the Super Machans the lead in the 28th minute. An Anibal Rodriguez free-kick shortly after coming off the bench rescued a point for Pune late on as both sides split the points at full-time. The 33-year-old defender spoke to indiansuperleague.com shortly after the match and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts from the interview.Disappointing result for you today, you could have had the three points…Yeah, I think we played well and everyone worked hard. I think today was one of the best games for FC Pune City, and if we work on our mistakes FC Pune City will become very strong.You have already played four home games and got only two points. What do you have to say about that?We are trying to win but the results are not coming yet but we are going to try and fix things to make sure that FC Pune City take maximum points and go top of the table.Second game in a row that you were down 1-0 at half time, what was the team talk at the break?Antonio [Habas] told us to work hard and yes some mistakes were made but I think the goal [by Jeje] was just unlucky because I think Pune played very well. I think if we hadn’t conceded that goal, we would have won because of our second-half performance.What do you think of Anibal’s goal?I think it was fantastic and it was a good goal and I think we deserved this goal as it is not good to lose at home and we are going into the next game with the mindset of winning, one hundred percent.
