FC Goa returned to winning ways in Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 with a crucial 4-3 victory over Bengaluru FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Thursday. Ferran Corominas was the ‘Hero of the Match’ thanks to his well-taken hat-trick, while Bruno Pinheiro impressed all to end the match with an assist and the ‘Winning Pass of the Match’ award. Speaking to indiansuperleague.com after the match, the FC Goa duo shared their thoughts on their first win at home this season. Here are the excerpts.

Bruno, thoughts on the game?

Well, it was a very difficult game; we knew we were going to play against a tough opponent. After they were reduced to 10 players, we relaxed a little bit. This is something that we need to improve for the coming games. But the most important thing is the three points. We won our first home game. So we will look forward to continue the same and get three points again and again and reach the semi-finals.

Coro, what are your thoughts on the Bengaluru defence?

It wasn’t easy. Bengaluru was a difficult opponent like we saw today. But today we played very good as a team. Our players gave good passes which helped me find good space without which I wouldn’t be able to do anything. But the most important thing is we won even though we conceded two goals against 10 players in the second half. But we had good personality, so we were able to finish the game.

Bruno, how difficult was it to hold on till the end?

It was a little bit of déjà vu from the first game. We have a young team and such situations will help all of us gain more experience and we have to learn from our mistakes and it’s good that it happened now in the beginning rather than at the end. We do have some players who are playing for the first time in the ISL and we have to help them to improve and grow.

Coro, how good was it playing in front of these fans?

It was our first home game and we saw the excitement of our supporters. I hope that it will be like that in all our home games and we will contribute with good matches, good shows and most importantly three points.
