FC Goa returned to their free-scoring best as they hammered ATK 3-0 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Thursday. Jackichand Singh scored the quickest goal of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2018-19 season so far to put the Gaurs in the lead and Ferran Corominas ensured the victory with a second-half brace.

After the match, indiansuperleague.com caught up with FC Goa's Ferran Corominas to know his thoughts about the match. Here are the excerpts.

Thoughts on the match.

It was a very good match for us. We came here and started very strong. We created a lot of chances in the first-half but could only score one goal and that was very little for the effort we were putting in. Now, we move into the second position in the table. Now, we have to keep ourselves relaxed and think about the upcoming matches.

Talk us through your first goal.

I was lucky to help the team with two goals and the first goal was a good shot from Mandar (Rao Dessai). There was a deflection and I was in the right place at the right moment.

How does it feel to lead the Golden Boot race?

Yeah, I’m happy but the most important thing is to keep winning and keep getting the three points in every single match. Also, the most important thing is getting that good feeling that we got today.

How does it feel to be on the cusp of qualification?

As I said before, today was a superb match by the team and also a huge step forward in terms of qualifying for the semi-finals. Now again, what we have to do is keep focusing on the remaining matches and win as many of them as possible.

ATK's Edu Garcia, on the other hand, was gutted after tonight's loss against FC Goa and cut a disappointed figure during his post-match interview. Here's what he said.

Thoughts on the match.

I don’t want to speak a lot today. We had a very bad match. So, now it’s time to think, to rest and I don’t want to speak on it.

Do you think the early goal shocked your side?

Yes, of course. When you concede a goal in the first minute, it’s terrible for your team. You start the match one goal down so it was a very bad action from us.

Do you think the injury to Everton Santos was a defining factor?

Yes, we have some injuries to some important players but it’s not an excuse. We have a team. We have a lot of players and we have to play every player, it doesn’t matter. Today was a very bad day for us.

Thoughts on the remaining matches.

Now, it’s difficult to think about the next matches. It was a difficult day today, but of course, we have to play two more matches. We will continue working and we will try to win both matches.
