Jamshedpur FC will be looking for nothing less than a victory when they host Mumbai City FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Friday. The Miners cannot afford to slip up in the match if they are to keep their play-off ambitions alive.

Before the match, indiansuperleague.com caught up with Jamshedpur youngster Farukh Choudhary for an exclusive chat. Here are the excerpts.

Thoughts on Jamshedpur FC's performance in the second half of the season.

When we came back to Jamshedpur, we worked really hard to get the winning habit back. But unfortunately, we couldn't get it as the first match against FC Goa was a draw. The last match against ATK, which was very important for us, we didn't win. We lost the match. It was a tough match but we couldn't help it as ATK scored from two free-kicks. I think they didn't get any other chances apart from the free-kicks. Now, it is over and we look forward to the match against Mumbai City FC.

How big of a blow was the loss against ATK?

After the loss, we were sad. It meant a lot for us. If we would have won that, we would have been level with NorthEast United FC on points. Nonetheless, we never gave up and we look forward to the match against Mumbai City FC and hopefully, we will try to win the match and get those three points.

How eager is the team to win and qualify?

We want to qualify this season because last season, we missed out by one or two points and hopefully, this year won't be the same. The boys are really working hard and we hope we make it to the semi-finals.

On playing against Mumbai City FC

They're really doing well this season. They have been winning a lot of matches. We hope we can win the next match as we have to focus on ourselves and go hard for the win.
