Sameehg Doutie was a big revelation of the 2015 Hero Indian Super League, and he has started the new season for Atlético de Kolkata in the same vein. The South African midfielder scored a goal against FC Goa on Sunday evening to help his team to their third draw in four matches. Overall, it was his second goal of the 2016 Hero Indian Super League having also scored against Chennaiyin FC in their season opener. Doutie, who scored three goals and six assists last season and seems to going from strength to strength in Hero ISL 2016, spoke to indiansuperleague.com shortly after the game and shared his thoughts on the 1-1 draw at the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium in Kolkata. Here are the excerpts from the interview. What are your thoughts on the match today? Do you think points were dropped by ATK?I think points were lost, we fought hard and you can see the disappointment on everyone. We were all over them [FC Goa], it was [Stephen] Pearson’s first challenge of the game and he received a red card. But this is football all I can say is that we fought, you could see the guys wanted to win since we were at home. What do you think about your own performance, it was a super goal?Yes, it was a good goal but I would rather have the three points instead of the goal but we didn’t, so the goal is not that important.
