ATK’s highly-rated attack found their groove as they beat Hyderabad FC 5-0 in their first home match of Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Friday.

The attacking prowess of David Williams and Roy Krishna came to the fore against Hyderabad, with the former scoring a brace and assisting Krishna for the second goal of the game. Two late goals by Edu Garcia then put the icing on the cake for the hosts. After the match, Williams and Krishna spoke to indiansuperleague.com in a post-match interview and shared their views on the match. Here are a few excerpts.

David, how do you feel after the first home victory?

Williams: I feel great for the team. We worked hard and we deserve it. I think we played two good games. We got three points in this and now we can focus on next week. It’s good to do it in front of the home fans. They were great tonight.

Roy, what’s your take on you and Williams’ partnership?

Krishna: I think we both played well. In last weekend’s game I know we had chances we couldn’t take but today we took them. We should continue this momentum in the next game, and we are looking forward to the next match.

David, talking about the crowd support, how great was it for you guys?

Williams: There are great supporters in Kolkata. The weather might have thrown the crowd off a little, but we are happy they were loud. They are a good group of supporters so we can’t complain. Maybe in the next game we will have double the supporters.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad FC’s forward Robin Singh shared his views on his team’s performance in their first ever Hero ISL game.

What are your thoughts on the game?

If I can sum it up it’s back to the drawing board. We need to make sure it doesn’t happen again against Jamshedpur FC. We need to keep going.

Highlight a few things that might have gone wrong?

That’s something we need to work on together. We got to keep that within the team itself.

How positive are you about Hyderabad FC’s forward line?

It’s the first game, but we moved forward and we combined well in instances. But we got to be better.
