Kerala Blasters FC snatched a point against Chennaiyin FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Friday, as CK Vineeth’s added time equaliser made it 1-1 after Rene Mihelic’s successful spot kick. Both teams came very close to scoring on multiple occasions but failed to convert until the dying minutes of the game. The visitors’ Ghanaian midfielder, Courage Pekuson, spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the match for his views on the encounter. Here are the excerpts.

Your thoughts on the game?

I think it was a fantastic game and we had a good opposition. The opponents were good on the ball. The best thing we had to do is to keep them away from our goal and we did exactly that. Unfortunately, they had a penalty, though I don’t think it was one.

Why do you think it was difficult for Chennai to score against your team?

We have a good organisation. We played very compactly without letting them play through us. This is what we had to do to keep them away from our goal.

How did you feel after the equaliser?

It was a great feeling because we didn’t come here to lose this game. We went all out, gave our best and we were hoping to win this game but to draw is better than to lose all three points, so it’s ok for us.

Are you happy with the draw?

It’s sad we lost the three points but it’s far better than not losing all the points. It’s something good for us.
