FC Goa will face off against Mumbai City FC in a high-intensity clash at the Mumbai Football Arena on Friday. The Gaurs will be looking for a win to further solidify their claim for a playoff spot, but face a tough challenge against a Mumbai side, which is in the midst of a nine-match unbeaten run.

Before the match, indiansuperleague.com caught up with FC Goa defender Carlos Pena for an interview. Here's what he said.

Thoughts on FC Goa's defensive performances so far.

I am happy because I have played two matches but it is not about me. I think we have worked a lot as a team and the defence has been good as we have played two fewer matches and it's not only for me or (Mourtada) Fall or for the other defenders, it's the work of the team. So, we are happy and we know that we have to improve.

What are your thoughts on the quality of Indian Football and the Hero ISL?

Well, all the matches are difficult. Many teams have good players and it is very difficult to win matches. We must be happy because we are in the fourth position and we are facing a lot of good teams and I am really impressed by the growth of Indian football.

How crucial is to win the next few matches for FC Goa?

Well, if we win it will be an important step for us. Not less important than the point we got against Jamshedpur FC and the win against NorthEast United FC. Every match is very important at this moment. I think we are playing good and we are in the fourth position. We have played fewer matches than all the teams. So, we have to go step by step.
