FC Goa lock horns with Kerala Blasters FC in Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Saturday. After a thrilling win over Bengaluru, Goa aim to topple Kerala in a bid to strengthen their position near the top of the league table. Speaking to indiansuperleague.com before the game, Brandon Fernandes claimed that they’re ready to take on the Blasters. Here are the excerpts.
Coming out on top in the 4-3 against Bengaluru, how is the team spirit now?
It was a tough match against Bengaluru. We have that match in the back of our minds and we are focussed on the match tomorrow against Kerala. We have prepared well and we look to the future and hopefully have a good result tomorrow.
A couple of defensive errors cost you three goals in the last game, any plans for preventing such lapses?
You make mistakes, you improve and you learn from them. Next match we will do much better.
Kerala Blasters’ defence is the second best in the league - what are your thoughts on that?
We are not worried about the opponents. We are more focussed on our attack. We have scored a lot of goals in the past three matches and going forward we’ll do our best and try to beat their defence.
What is your message for the fans?
I just want to thank the fans for coming in large numbers and supporting us. I hope they come tomorrow as well and give us a boost.
