FC Goa still have unfinished business in the league stages of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2018-19 as they look to seal the second spot in the table when they face Chennaiyin FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Thursday. Having suffered a disappointing defeat against a 10-man Bengaluru FC side in the previous match, Sergio Lobera and Co. will be aiming to get back to winning ways before the semis.

Before the match, indiansuperleague.com sat down with Goa player Brandon Fernandes for an exclusive chat. Here's what he had to say.

Thoughts on the season so far.

I think FC Goa have done really well. In the last five seasons, we have been in four semi-finals. That means we’ve been really consistent. Last season and this season, we did really well and that’s our first objective - to reach the semi-finals. We're hoping to get a good result in the semi-finals.

Is the approach different considering it is the last league match?

I don’t think so because the last match of the season is very important for us. We have to win it. We have to go to the semi-finals on a positive note, so we will take this match the same as we would take all the other matches in the season.

Thoughts on your personal performance this season.

It has been a good season for me. I played a lot of matches this season and assisted a few goals. So, I want to keep improving and do better for my team.

Thoughts on the FC Goa fans.

They have been really amazing. I think they have come in large numbers and always supported us and I hope that support is always there for us. We will do our best and try to give them something back.
