A vociferous crowd stood witness as Bengaluru FC defeated FC Goa 1-0 after 120 minutes of intense football to be crowned the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2018-19 champions at the Mumbai Football Arena on Sunday. After no goals to separate the teams at the end of normal time, Rahul Bheke headed home a Dimas Delgado corner on the 117th minute to exorcise Bengaluru’s demons from last season’s final.

After the match, indiansuperleague.com caught up with three ecstatic Bengaluru players - match winner Rahul Bheke, goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu and midfielder Dimas Delgado - for their post-match reactions. Here's what they had to say.

Rahul Bheke

How did it feel to score the winner?

I think it’s a great feeling for me, scoring in the final minutes of the final. It will be a memorable one for me and I thought our team played really well. Because of their efforts, we won this match.

How sweet is this victory for you?

I think it’s the sweetest for me because I’ve scored in previous matches like in Pune and Goa, but this was my best one. So, this one is my sweetest one.

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu

How does it feel to be a Hero ISL champion?

It feels incredible. FC Goa made it tough for us and I just want to applaud them for the effort that they made. They’re a great team and it’s really unfortunate they couldn’t win. But credit to the boys for having that patience and that mentality to keep going. So, it just feels incredible.

Dimas Delgado

How does it feel to be a Hero ISL champion?

I think it’s one of the best feelings I’ve felt in my life. I think after the semi-finals, we deserved it. It was also a very tough match. FC Goa played very well and put us in trouble in Extra Time, but this team showed all season that we have character, spirit and a never-give-up attitude. So, in the end, we tried to give everything and then, we got the goal. So, I'm very happy and just want to enjoy with everyone because they also deserve it.
