One of the mainstays in Atlético de Kolkata’s title-winning team last season was goalkeeper Apoula Edel. The Armenian keeper’s save to deny Michael Chopra in the final from within the six-yard box still remains one of the highlights from the inaugural edition. Edel will be hoping for a similar success after donning the blue of Chennaiyin FC this season. Ahead of his side’s match against FC Goa on Sunday, he spoke to indiansuperleague.com in an exclusive interview and answered some important questions. Here are the excerpts.Q. As an ISL veteran how do you think the league is different this year when compared to the last year?A. I think the Indian players have brought up their level this season and also the foreign players who have come in are more competitive.Q. How does your team look going into tomorrow’s game against hosts FC Goa?A. Tried to have good training here, of course it’s hot. Tomorrow I hope we’ll have a very good game. Of course, we lost the first two games."I’m a quiet person, I don’t speak too much, I prefer to speak on the field."Apoula EdelQ. What do you, as a keeper, bring to Chennaiyin FC?A. I’m a quiet person, I don’t speak too much, I prefer to speak on the field but our first two games were not very good. I hope that tomorrow I will give my best like I always do for my team to win.Q.
