Andrew Barisic played a part for about 60 minutes in Kerala Blasters FC’s 3-0 loss to FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda. The Kerala Blasters forward acknowledged that winning in Goa was going to be a tall order in any case, but did not expect such a heavy defeat. Barisic spoke to indiansuperleague.com in an exclusive post-match interview and bemoaned the chances he and his teammates spurned. The Australian also shared his thoughts on Indian strikers CS Sabeeth and Milagres Gonsalves, and described the experience of playing alongside goalkeeper and head coach David James. How tough was it out there?Obviously you can tell it was not our best game, they had more of the possession, they played the ball better and we were second to all the balls that were given. How difficult was it to play in front of a crowd like this? It’s always difficult; it’s difficult for teams to come to our home stadium and play against us and, in the same way, it’s difficult for teams to come here. It’s got a great atmosphere. But we came here to do our job and we didn’t do it.What are thoughts on the two Goan central defenders? How difficult was it getting past them? They did well, obviously. They kept a clean sheet. We had our chances to score in the first half. The ball kept getting stuck under my feet and I couldn’t get it out in time! We had a few more chances later on but nothing clear cut. What’s the road ahead for Kerala Blasters? The good thing about the ISL is that you have to forget about this game and move on to the next one. We’ve got Chennaiyin next week. We beat a top team (Atlético de Kolkata) last week and we have to now beat Chennaiyin.A word on your Indian strikers CS Sabeeth and Milagres Gonsalves? They’ve been playing really well since the pre-season and, coming into every game, they’ve really progressed. How is it playing under someone like David James? We’re learning everyday through him. He tells us to play our game and be confident out there. We didn’t play our game today but we’ll go back to him, and he’ll tell us what to do.
