Solid at the back, Kerala-born Anas Edathodika has completed a staggering 19 clearances in his two outings for Delhi Dynamos FC so far. Not just that, his passing accuracy of 83% shows the calming influence he brings to his team. No wonder Delhi’s marquee player-cum-coach Roberto Carlos was all praise for the 28-year-old at a press conference on Saturday. Delhi play their next game against Kerala Blasters FC at Kochi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Sunday and indiansuperleague.com caught up with the home-returning player ahead of the encounter. Here are the excerpts from that interview.
You'll be playing in front of your family and friends up against Kerala Blasters. What are your thoughts on this game?
I am very excited for this next match. But what is important and should [always] be is the three points. Every match, [we are always] looking at the three points at the end of the day. Kerala blasters is a really good team and we do really respect them. They have got a massive home crowd and a lot of top players like CK Vineeth and Mohammed Rafi.

Anas EdathodikaYou've learnt playing football with your friends in Kerala. Are they coming over for the match along with your family?
Yes, I have family and friends coming over for the game, a lot of them like me so they support me personally but in this scenario Kerala Blasters is their home team as well, and they would be supporting the Blasters which is what they should rightfully do.
Your performance has been getting good press all over the state, your thoughts on that?
There's nothing much I can really say on that. I'll be trying hard and working hard to get my team the three points.
