Delhi Dynamos FC lost for the second consecutive time on the road, going down today to Mumbai City FC at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai by a solitary goal scored by Nicolas Anelka. Alessandro Del Piero came off the bench in the second half and tried to turn things around for the visitors. The Juventus legend almost saved the day for his when his header off a Steven Dias cross just flew past the far post with the Mumbai defence beaten.Despite being disappointed with the defeat, Del Piero graciously took time off soon after the match to share his thoughts on the game in an exclusive chat with www.indiansuperleague.com. Here are some excerpts:You all fought very hard today but your side lost, how do you feel?Very bad, for sure, it’s devastating to lose a game. How did you find the atmosphere in Mumbai? It’s wonderful! The stadium looks much larger than it does on TV. I don’t know why, but it looks very nice. A lot of people came and they’re happy because Mumbai won. There were a group of Juventus fans who wanted Mumbai to win and for you to score. How does it feel coming to India and seeing that?I’m very happy to see Juventus fans in India and also to see them supporting me. I read that there’s a big fan club here.Where does your team go from here?We will try to play our best and pick up a result, we need a result now.How are you coping with the schedule of the Hero Indian Super League? For sure, these three games have not been easy for us because we play every three or four days; all the games are away, so it’s very hard, but this is the league and it happens to every team and we cannot find excuses.
