FC Pune City will be looking to make use of their recent momentum when they travel to the home of NorthEast Untied FC on Wednesday. Phil Brown’s tenure has begun on a positive note with the Stallions still hopeful of making it through to the playoffs despite being nine points off the final qualification place.

Ahead of the fixture, indiansuperleague.com caught up for an exclusive interview with Pune midfielder Adil Khan. Here are a few excerpts from the same.

What do you think of your chances to qualify?

It’s very tough for us to qualify now but we are not losing our hope. Whatever the results may be in the other matches, but for us, we need to win all of our three matches. So, we’re trying to win our matches and we’re working hard for that.

Who is the biggest threat from NorthEast United FC?

They’re really doing good. This is their fifth season and they’re almost there in the top four. I’m happy for them because for four years they haven’t got the result that they wanted. So, I think, Bartholomew Ogbeche will be our main target because he scores goals for them and Federico Gallego. Ogbeche and Gallego - they are the good players for them.

Thoughts on the match.

It’s going to be a good match. They need a win and even we need a win to keep our chances alive. They have to win to qualify for the semi-finals. So, it’s going to be a good match.
