Jamshedpur FC are flourishing in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) this season after being unable to finish in the top four last season. With head coach Owen Coyle leading the way, the Men of Steel are a force to be reckoned with this season.

In his second year as manager of Jamshedpur FC, Coyle seems to have found a formula to lead his team to their first-ever semi-final appearance.

Jamshedpur FC's numbers in 2021: Pl: 19, W:7, D:6, L:6, Win%: 36.84

Coyle’s men finished sixth in the league table with 27 points, winning and losing seven games each, with six draws in 20 matches in the Hero ISL 20-21 season. Currently, Jamshedpur FC are placed fourth in the league table with 13 points, winning three games, drawing four, and losing just one out of eight games.

The high: The Men of Steel registered a 4-0 win against Odisha FC in what was their biggest win in 2021 which involved Greg Stewart scoring a hat-trick - first of the Hero ISL 2021-22 season while also scoring Jamshedpur FC’s first-ever hat-trick. It was one of the team's best-ever performances in the Hero ISL.

The low: Coyle’s side remained winless in January 2021 in what was a 5-game winless run. These run of fixtures hampered their hopes for a top four finish in the Hero ISL 2020-21 season.

Best Player: The presence of Greg Stewart in Jamshedpur FC makes it an intimidating side. Stewart has produced some fantastic numbers for his team, with nine goal involvements, the joint-highest in the league this season.

What to expect in 2022: Jamshedpur FC know how to win games and have shown their lethal attack prowess. Defensively too the team has remained solid. Coyle’s men have struck the right chord and if things go as planned, Jamshedpur FC can pose a serious threat to the throne.
