With four draws, Hero Indian Super League’s (Hero ISL) first Kolkata derby and a couple of matches witnessing late drama, Gameweek 2 of Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2020-21 was a treat for fans and Dream11 fantasy gamers alike. Many top stars scored crucial goals to help their respective team’s cause and earn fantasy points on Hero ISL-Dream11.

Last week’s Hero ISL-Dream11 winner was VarzilXI after accumulating a total of 3989 points and now with a new Dream11 Gameweek already underway, let’s look at the top performing stars from Week 2 of action while looking ahead to some potential game-changers in the upcoming week.

Dream11 MVP of the Week

Nerijus Valskis (Jamshedpur FC) – 146 Dream11 points

Making his debut for Jamshedpur FC against his former club Chennaiyin FC, Nerijus Valskis scored one goal late in the first half but was unable to help his side get any points from the game. The Lithuanian striker was at it again on Sunday, scoring two goals against Odisha FC. Valskis had a high player rating of 9.36 against Odisha and in total the forward hit the target with three of his five shots in both games. Valskis will hope to continue his goal-scoring run in the Hero ISL in the upcoming week with a clash against Hyderabad FC to look forward to.

Key performers from Week 2

Diego Mauricio (Odisha FC) – 112 Dream11 points

After his debut for Odisha FC didn’t quite go as planned with his side succumbing to a 1-0 loss against Hyderabad FC, Diego Mauricio did well as a super-sub against Jamshedpur FC. The Brazilian scored two goals after coming off the bench to secure a point for his side. Mauricio also notched a player rating of 7.65 for the match against Jamshedpur and scored with both his shots on target, including a stunning equaliser late in the game that could be a contender for goal of the season. Mauricio along with Odisha will be in action twice in the upcoming week, making him a smart pick to have in your team.

Sergio Cidoncha (Kerala Blasters FC) – 134 Dream11 points

Now in his second season with Kerala Blasters FC, Sergio Cidoncha has been ever-present at the heart of midfield for the Kochi-based club. Cidoncha opened the scoring for Kerala in the fifth minute against NorthEast United FC and had a player rating of 7.35 for that game. The Spanish midfielder was less effective in Kerala’s second game of the week against Chennaiyin FC before being stretchered off due to an injury. However, he will be hoping to be fit in time for Kerala’s match against FC Goa.

Hero ISL Dream11 Recruiter: Players to look out for

In addition to the abovementioned players, here are a few names to keep an eye on in Week 3 of Hero ISL 2020-21.

Esmael Goncalves of Chennaiyin FC vs Bengaluru FC, December 4

The forward was among the best players for Chennaiyin FC on his debut against Jamshedpur FC, assisting Anirudh Thapa for the opener before scoring from the spot to double the Marina Machans’ lead. Although the pacey attacker was unable to score against Kerala Blasters in Chennaiyin’s second game, one can expect him to be a threat on the wings against a Bengaluru FC side that are yet to win this season and could be short on confidence.

Albino Gomes of Kerala Blasters FC vs FC Goa, December 6

The goalkeeper made a decisive save against Chennaiyin FC to help his side secure a point. Albino Gomes kept his first clean sheet of the season against the Marina Machans after denying their striker Jakub Sylvestr a goal from the penalty spot. Albino will be key to his team’s fortunes against an attacking FC Goa side and we can expect the confident goalkeeper to notch a few more top saves and clean sheets as the season continues.
