With the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20 officially reaching the halfway point of the league phase, Gameweek 9 saw some incredible football from all teams involved, inspired by some brilliant individual performances. Based on individual ratings from the matches, here’s the best XI from Gameweek 9.

Arindam Bhattacharja (ATK FC)

The ATK custodian contributed with four clearances and three catches to keep reigning champions Bengaluru FC at bay in the last match of the Gameweek and help ATK notch up their first-ever Hero ISL win over the Blues.

Sumit Rathi (ATK FC)

The 18-year-old defender has been growing strength to strength this season and put on his best performance yet against defending champions Bengaluru FC. The youngster affected eight clearances and had a passing accuracy of 69% as ATK kept a clean sheet against Sunil Chhetri and Co.

Tiri (Jamshedpur FC)

Tiri scored the equaliser for Jamshedpur and created another chance for his side. The Jamshedpur skipper had a passing accuracy of 70% and was one of the better players in an otherwise dismal performance by his side.

Sarthak Golui (Mumbai City FC)

Sarthak Golui made 12 clearances against Jamshedpur and was a rock at the back of the Mumbai defence, especially in the second half. He made five interceptions and two successful tackles as well.

Nikhil Poojary (Hyderabad FC)

Poojary has been a key component for the Hyderabad based club this season, especially on the right flank. He had a passing accuracy of 86% against ATK, the most by any player for his side. He also had more touches on the ball than any other Hyderabad player, while creating two chances.

Paulo Machado (Mumbai City FC)

Paulo Machado’s free kick goal against Jamshedpur was a delight for the travelling Mumbai fans. The Portuguese midfielder also had a passing accuracy of 71% and created two chances for the Islanders.

Javier Hernandez (ATK FC)

Javier Hernandez assisted both of ATK’s goals against Hyderabad FC helping his team avoid defeat and salvage a point. He created five other chances and was key in the middle of the park for ATK.

Lallianzuala Chhangte (Chennaiyin FC)

The young Mizo winger has finally found his feet under new head coach Owen Coyle and was key in his side’s victory over local rivals Kerala Blasters FC. Chhangte scored one and assisted another, and has a passing accuracy of 70% in the high-intensity match.

Ferran Corominas (FC Goa)

Hero ISL’s all-time highest goal scorer added two more goals to his tally in the game against Odisha. The Spaniard also assisted Brandon Fernandes’ goal and created six more chances. Corominas had a passing accuracy of 70% as well.

Bobo (Hyderabad FC)

Bobo’s two headers almost sealed the win for Hyderabad till Roy Krishna’s late equaliser. He created two chances as well, and was key while defending, having made four blocks.

Roy Krishna (ATK FC)

Roy Krishna continued his red-hot form, scoring two goals against a resilient Hyderabad side. The Fiji international is now two goals ahead of the other players in the Golden Boot leaderboard.
