Another action-packed round of Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20 concluded on Wednesday and as per norm, some high-quality individual performances came to the fore, on both ends of the pitch, over the course of Gameweek 16. However, with only eleven eligible to get into the Team of the Week, here’s the best of the best from Gameweek 16, based on match ratings.

1. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu (Bengaluru FC)

Like Gameweek 14, the India international clinches this position after earning another shutout in the draw against Chennaiyin FC. Gurpreet accounted for three saves, eight catches, three punches and five clearances in the tightly-contested match.

2. Gianni Zuiverloon (Kerala Blasters FC)

While Eelco Schattorie’s side were largely ineffective in attack in the goalless draw against NorthEast United FC, they were quite solid in defence. Zuiverloon was the backbone of that unit, helping with five clearances and two tackles. Quite surprisingly, the Blasters’ man also created four chances and completed a staggering 86 passes.

3. Lucian Goian (Chennaiyin FC)

The former Mumbai City FC defender continued his excellent form to help the Marina Machans earn a point and a clean sheet against the defending champions. Goian was quite sensational on the night as he successfully completed 21 clearances, three tackles and three interceptions.

4. Subhasish Bose (Mumbai City FC)

The left-back is one of two Mumbai players to find be named in this week’s best XI despite a 5-2 loss to FC Goa. The 24-year-old provided an assist, created two chances and completed a staggering 83% of his passes during the encounter. Defensively, Subhasish accounted for three tackles, three interceptions and as many clearances.

5. Redeem Tlang (NorthEast United FC)

After sitting out the game against the Blasters, Tlang returned to the Highlanders’ starting XI in the thrilling 3-3 draw against Jamshedpur FC. The 24-year-old scored with an acrobatic attempt and was a constant menace for the visitors. Furthermore, Tlang successfully completed 49 passes and six tackles.

6. Jose Leudo (NorthEast United FC)

Like Tlang, Leudo also sat out the goalless draw against Blasters and was drafted back for the Jamshedpur fixture. Leudo played the entire 90 minutes and scored his first goal of the Hero ISL 2019-20 season late in the game to earn the Highlanders a point. Additionally, the Colombian accounted for three clearances and 52 passes.

7. Memo Moura (Jamshedpur FC)

The Brazilian scored his first goal of the season in Jamshedpur’s 3-3 draw with the Highlanders last Monday. He was equally efficient in the defensive phase as well, successfully completing 12 clearances, making two tackles and completing 33 passes.

8. Rowllin Borges (Mumbai City FC)

Despite Mumbai’s 5-2 defeat at the hands of FC Goa, Borges finds his way into this week’s best XI. He had a hand in both the Islanders’ goal, scoring one and assisting Bipin Singh’s strike. Additionally, Borges attempted 12 tackles and completed a decent 78% of his passes during the encounter.

9. Hugo Boumous (FC Goa)

The midfielder continued his red-hot form with a goal and two assists in the win over Mumbai City FC. He also created four chances, completed 75% of his passes and had two attempts on the Islanders goal.

10. Roy Krishna (ATK FC)

Easily the best performer in Gameweek 16 of the Hero ISL 2019-20, Krishna single-handedly won the two-time champions three points against Odisha FC. He scored a terrific hat-trick, whilst also creating a goal-scoring opportunity.

11. Ferran Corominas (FC Goa)

The Hero ISL’s all-time top-scorer was too good for the Mumbai defence to handle, as he scored two goals and provided one assist in Goa’s 5-2 win on Wednesday. Furthermore, the Spaniard created two chances and completed 69% of his passes in the game.
