Stat attack: Mohun Bagan SG’s derby dominance, Petratos’ consistency and more
On a night of green and maroon glory, there were notable individual performances that were rewarded with an entry into the record books.
Mohun Bagan Super Giant extended their unbeaten record in the Kolkata derby in the Indian Super League (ISL) with a 3-1 win over East Bengal FC on Sunday to go top of the table.
A first-half blitz that included goals from Jason Cummings, Liston Colaco and Dimitri Petratos blew the Red and Gold brigade away as a second-half goal from Saul Crespo proved to be just a consolation for Carles Cuadrat’s side.
The victory has put the Mariners in the driver’s seat in the race for the League Shield but for East Bengal FC, the final playoff spot became even more distant.
