Parthib Gogoi, a 20-year-old young prodigy, continues his emergence since his arrival in the Indian Super League (ISL) with NorthEast United FC. The Assam-born forward has already displayed some impressive, stellar performances and is getting better with time and experience. With his precise finishes from outside the box, magnificent control of the ball, work ethic, agility, and intelligence, Gogoi has established himself as one of the most promising young stars for the future of Indian football.

As the talented forward put pen to paper for a contract extension with NorthEast United FC that will keep him at the club till 2026-27 season, here's a look at his best moments with the Highlanders:

ISL debut and first ISL goal

Making his ISL debut with NorthEast United FC in the 2022–23 season, Gogoi was one of the standout performers for the Highlanders last season. Having played 18 matches in his maiden ISL season, Gogoi had eight shots on target, of which he scored on three occasions.

Gogoi’s first ISL goal came against two-time ISL league shield award winners Mumbai City FC. His other two goals came against East Bengal FC and Chennaiyin FC. Playing on the biggest stage of Indian Football for the first time, Gogoi showed his composure, quality, outstanding technique, and innate ability to find the back of the net.

First-ever senior hat-trick:

The promising forward-winger started the new season where he left off last campaign. Playing in the Durand Cup 2023, Gogoi scored his first-ever senior hat trick against Shillong Lajong FC. He ended the Durand Cup with four goals to his name.

Under their new head coach, Juan Pedro Benali, Gogoi continues to excel in his skills and potential and has become a significant part of the Highlanders.

Parthib Gogoi and his long-range goals: a treat to watch

Gogoi started this season with a bang as he became the first Highlander to score in four consecutive games. With three goals to his name, Gogoi is now in the second spot on the top goalscorers list.

He showed his immense quality and sheer technique while taking long-range strikes. He has the ability to play on both wings and can outplay the defenders with his quick feet, speed, and dribbling skills. He has the tendency to cut in and shoot, which makes him a threat to the opponent's fullbacks.

Gogoi is that kind of talent on which we should keep our eyes for the future. Since his debut in the 2022–23 season, no player has scored more goals from outside the box than him.

The future star is just at the beginning of his career and has been a worthy member of his squad. His goal conversion rate, goals-per-minute ratio, and xG (expected goals) ratio are among some of the best in the league.
