One month to go! What have the teams been up to?

A new season of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) starts in exactly a month from now, and while excited fans are gearing up for Indian football’s grandest extravaganza, what exactly have the ten teams been up to? At indiansuperleague.com, we take a look at all that’s brewing on social media with the ISL teams and their players, and showcase the prep work going into the fourth – and biggest – season. Start your clocks…

Defending champions ATK are training hard in Dubai with their first session kicking off a few days ago, a fact that was updated by their new foreign recruit Carl Baker.

Robin Singh, who also signed for Kolkata this season, seems to have found the perfect way to cool down after sweating it out.

Kerala Blasters FC took to Spain for their pre-season training and had some intense sessions.

They were also victorious in their first pre-season friendly.

Mumbai City FC are also in Spain for their preparations and have already shown intent ahead of the ISL season. With a 3-0 score-line against EU Gandia and then winning 2-1 over CD Castellon in friendly matches, the team from India’s city of dreams has been creating quite an impression.

The Mumbai side also shared snapshots from these matches with their fans.

Moving to the team from the north, Delhi Dynamos travelled to Qatar and have been training in the capital city of Doha. Pritam Kotal, India defender and now a new signing for the Dynamos, was excited about the trip too.

The Lions may have had a tough first pre-season encounter when they took on Al Wakrah SC.

But they also put in the hard yards as part of their daily regimen. This looked like fun too!

The Highlanders chose to train in familiar environments at home and even played an exhibition match against Shillong United. Defender Nirmal Chettri, who has also represented Kerala Blasters in an earlier season, shared his delight on reuniting with some known faces on the field.

FC Pune City have also been training within the domestic circuit and came up trumps in a friendly against Mizoram-based Chanmari FC.

While this performance would have boosted Pune’s confidence no end, new recruit Kean Lewis showed us what goes on behind the scenes to produce such results.

Hero ISL 2015 champions Chennaiyin FC flew to Thailand as part of their preparations for a second trophy.

Despite the gruelling routine, members of the team found time for leisure and also welcomed goalkeeping coach Tony Warner to the side.

FC Goa was also one of the teams that took on a Spanish sojourn for their build-up to the next ISL season. After a couple of friendlies ending in disappointing results, the Gaurs might have to go back to the drawing board and iron out any chinks in their armour.

That said, the Goa players are training hard and keeping their spirits up going into the 2017-18 season.

The next ISL season is longer and features two new teams in the fray. Bengaluru FC have been busy with their AFC Cup commitments, where they were unlucky to be edged 1-0 in the first leg of the Inter-Zone Final.

With the home leg looming large, the Blues are practising harder than ever to overcome that deficit.

The other debutants, Jamshedpur FC, are using Thailand as their pre-season base and are off to a good start already.

Training for them though, continues to be an intense affair and they will be hoping all their hard work pays off when they take to the hallowed pitch.
