But national team regulars Subrata Paul and Syed Rahim Nabi also enjoyed quite a chunk of the spotlight.Both India stalwarts were in high spirits at the launch and eager for the action to begin. “I personally feel the ISL is going to be a huge success. This is what Indian football has been lacking – that extra bit of glamour and quality. Honestly, I can’t wait to get started”, said Nabi, one of the most exciting and versatile players over the last decade.Paul, who has been India’s No 1 goalkeeper for the most part of the last seven years, revealed his pride at being part of the Mumbai squad: “I’m very proud to be part of this team. I’m also proud of being the team’s first pick in the domestic draft. I think we have a great squad here, so hopefully, we will all come together and do this city proud.”I personally feel the ISL is going to be a huge success. He said, matter-of-factly, “I have always given my all for my team, whether it was my village side, or the national team. I can’t wait for the league to start and give everything for Mumbai.”Nabi, who was his usual effervescent self, was extremely positive as well, but admitted it would be slightly strange to play Kolkata in the ISL. “Of course, it will be strange to play against a Kolkata side, but being here in Mumbai, I feel really good about the team and the league. This is my team now. Don’t worry, I’m going to learn Marathi as well!” he quipped.The two Bengalis could well be Mumbai City’s biggest weapons in the inaugural tournament!
