18th October 2014. It was Mumbai City FC’s first match at home in the inaugural Hero Indian Super League (ISL). And in front of a roaring DY Patil Stadium, Brazilian winger André Moritz just turned it into a match to remember!Playing the Maharashtra derby, against FC Pune City, Moritz scored his first ISL goal for the island city on the 12th minute rising up the right flank and turning one in from right outside the box. But he didn’t just stop there. He wouldn’t let the crowds enjoy a breather as he went to add goals for the Ranbir Kapoor-owned side on the 27th and 71st minute as well. This would complete his, as well as the League’s, first-ever hat-trick and let Mumbai City FC complete their 5-0 rout against FC Pune City. This record, till today, has managed to stay unbeaten.Barring the time he was injured, Moritz played the part of an arduous, attacking midfielder to perfection in Season 2014. Retained by the Mumbai squad this time, fans will be expecting to see André Moritz create some more magic.Incidentally, Mumbai City FC start their quest for ISL glory on October 5th against FC Pune City. The Punekars will be wary of their neighbours and especially Moritz. Can he produce another special this year?
