Meet the tacticians who stuck around the longest with their club and left their mark in the league.

Stability in coaching is a rare commodity in modern football and the Indian Super League (ISL) has been no exception. But some head coaches have managed to beat the clock. They have not just survived, but thrived across multiple campaigns. They’ve done more than just rack up games; they’ve laid foundations, won silverware and built legacies.
From turning struggling sides into silverware contenders to building teams that punched above their weight, these tacticians have stood tall in a league that has been competitive season after season. And they delivered consistent quality.
With that, we look into the longest-serving head coaches in ISL history that have managed a single club, ranked by the number of games they’ve managed.

Under Vukomanovic, Kerala Blasters achieved three consecutive playoff appearances, the first time in the club’s history, turning a team that once struggled into consistent contenders. His calm yet fiery approach earned him respect, and his ability to get the best out of his players spoke volumes. Whether it’s tactical nous or man-management, Vukomanovic will forever be remembered by the Blasters fans.
2) Manolo Marquez (Hyderabad FC) - 65 games
Next up on our list is Manolo Marquez, who managed over 60 games with Hyderabad FC between 2020 and 2023. But it wasn’t just about silverware, Marquez also promoted young players who went on to represent India internationally. He showed that success in the ISL isn’t just about results, but also about nurturing the future.

Under his guidance, FC Goa became one of the most entertaining and fearsome teams in the league. Although Lobera parted ways with the Gaurs during the 2019-20 season, FC Goa went on to win the Shield, becoming the first team ever to do so in ISL history. This achievement also earned them a spot in the prestigious AFC Champions League.
Though Lobera left Goa in 2020, the foundation he set remains strong. Fans still fondly remember those high-tempo matches where FC Goa dazzled under his watch.
