Brazilian midfielder André Moritz made sure Mumbai City FC’s first-ever Hero Indian Super League home fixture was an unforgettable one for the fans at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Against state rivals FC Pune City in a match billed as the ‘Maharashtra derby’, Moritz led Mumbai City to a 5-0 victory. He opened the scoring in the 12^th minute, with a mazy run on the right wing followed by a shot from just outside the box which was placed precisely into the bottom corner. Fifteen minutes later, he doubled the scoring, with a deft flick with the outside of his left boot from a corner kick. While the outcome of the game was more or less certain by the end of the first half, Moritz added the icing on the cake in the 71^st minute. Latching onto a mis-hit clearance, he drove into the box before powering home a shot with his weaker right foot to score the first hat-trick in ISL history.
