ISL Fantasy Playoffs League Deadline: Friday, April 19, 6:00 PM IST

With the exciting league stage of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 season coming to an end, we are all set to witness a clash of titans as we step into the playoffs.

As FC Goa, Odisha FC, Kerala Blasters FC and Chennaiyin FC clash in the playoffs to decide which two teams will make it through to the semi-final to lock horns with Mohun Bagan SG and Mumbai City FC for a place in the final, the playoffs league of ISL Fantasy gives the managers an opportunity to rack up points by shuffling their teams accordingly.

However, the points would be reset to zero before the playoffs begin, giving an opportunity to all those managers, whose fantasy season hadn’t been as planned.

With gift cards worth Rs. 50,000 at stake, for playing only seven matches (playoffs, semi-finals and final) the managers will also get unlimited transfers before the playoffs to prepare their teams for the ultimate showdown.

A maximum of five players can be picked from each team for the playoffs, with both matches sharing a deadline of Friday, April 19, 6:00 PM IST.

Matchweek 22 summary

With Mohun Bagan Super Giant having taken the pitch twice in Matchweek 22, managers who picked players from the Mariners, earned points handsomely. So did the managers who picked Carlos  Martinez (FC Goa) or Wilmar Jordan (Punjab FC) as they both bagged braces to finish off their league season.

Playoffs: What to expect?

Taking on a new journey with the new Playoffs League, the managers are advised to strategically set their teams with players from FC Goa, Odisha FC, Kerala Blasters FC and Chennaiyin FC, with Odisha FC hosting Kerala Blasters FC on April 19, and FC Goa hosting Chennaiyin FC on April 20.

Adrian Luna is expected to make his return after a long injury break, giving the managers something to think about.

Top picks for the playoffs

Roy Krishna (Odisha FC)

Sitting second on the top scorer of the season list with 12 goals to his name, only behind an injured Dimitrios Diamantakos (13 goals), Krishna is expected to become the x-factor when the Kalinga Warriors take on Kerala Blasters FC on Friday.

The Fijian bagged a brace in their last encounter helping his team to a 2-1 win over the Blasters and is picked by 24% of fantasy managers.

Noah Sadaoui (FC Goa)

Sadaoui has been in red-hot form since the last international break, scoring four goals and assisting a couple in his three appearances for the Gaurs since then. With 104 fantasy points, he stands second on the list of players with the most fantasy points this season in the ISL, with only Punjab FC midfielder Madih Talal (107 points) ahead of him.

Although he failed to bag a goal for himself when the two sides met last time, the Moroccan will look forward to creating a pivotal impact against the Marina Machans on Saturday.

Rafael Crivellaro (Chennaiyin FC)

The Brazilian veteran is the midfield general for the Marina Machans. Creating 42 chances so far in the ongoing ISL season, including seven assists, Crivellaro stands third on the list of players with the most assists this season.

The 35-year-old bagged four goals to his name already, establishing himself as the second-highest-scoring fantasy player with 88 points, following Noah Sadaoui (104 points).

Top differential picks for playoffs

Diego Mauricio (Odisha FC)

Mauricio has been a constant threat in the opposition’s half throughout this season.

Scoring 10 goals in 20 appearances, the Brazilian stands fourth in the top-scorers of the season list and has been a choice of 11% fantasy managers.

He was the sole scorer for Odisha FC in their 2-1 loss to Kerala Blasters FC in the first half of the ongoing league season.

Carlos Martinez (FC Goa)

With 10 goals to his name in 21 appearances, Martinez has been the top scorer of FC Goa in the ISL 2023-24 season thus far.

Taking on Chennaiyin FC, the Spaniard will be eager to add to his tally capitalising on Chennaiyin FC’s poor defensive display this season.

With 84 fantasy points to his name, Martinez is the third-highest-scoring FC Goa player, behind Jay Gupta (89 points) and Noah Sadaoui (104 points).

Fedor Cernych (Kerala Blasters FC)

The Lithuania captain has been an impactful addition to Kerala Blasters FC, who found themselves lost after Adrian Luna had to step back from the squad due to an injury.

Since coming to India, Cernych has bagged two goals so far and assisted one, while also creating six goal-scoring chances.

Cernych has bagged 26 fantasy points so far and has been selected by 3% of the fantasy managers.

Captaincy choice: Noah Sadaoui (FC Goa)

The Moroccan is expected to find his name on the scoresheet considering that the Gaurs will play a Chennaiyin FC side who have recorded a poor season defensively, conceding the second most number of goals this season in the league stage (36 goals), with Hyderabad FC being the only team to have conceded more goals (43 goals). They have only managed to keep three clean sheets so far.

Facing a side with a vulnerable backline, Sadaoui will look forward to making the most out of it.
