Matchweek 16 of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 season is set to spice up the league with some of the most anticipated fixtures of the season, giving an opportunity to the ISL Fantasy managers to rack up points.

Punjab FC are set to miss the action in the upcoming matchweek but FC Goa are set to play two matches to make up for it. The remaining 10 teams play one game each leaving the ISL Fantasy manager with a range of options to select their players from.

Matchweek 15 summary

Jamshedpur FC registered a dominating 4-0 win against Punjab FC while Mumbai City played two matches in Matchweek 15 stealing all six points from them with a clean sheet in both of them. Hence, it comes as no surprise that Jamshedpur FC players - Jeremy Manzorro (16 pts) and TP Rehenesh (13 pts) make the top two points scorers, followed by the Mumbai City FC trio of Phurba Lachenpa, Tiri and Vikram Partap Singh all registering 12 points to their name.

Matchweek 16: What to expect?

After sitting it out for Matchweek 15, ISL Fantasy managers would be glad to see players like Ahmed Jahouh, Roy Krishna, Mourtada Fall, and Diego Mauricio take the pitch as the star-studded Odisha FC return to action.

With FC Goa appearing twice in this matchweek, and again taking to the pitch in Matchweek 17, the ISL Fantasy managers will be eager to include players from the Gaurs, tweaking their teams based on the composition and dynamics of the existing teams.

Top Picks for Matchweek 16

Noah Sadaoui (FC Goa): With two games in the upcoming matchweek, FC Goa’s pivotal midfielder will be one of the most favoured choices for the ISL Fantasy managers. Alongside his four goals and an assist in the ISL 2023-24 season, the Moroccan has created 16 chances for his team.

Roy Krishna (Odisha FC): The Fijian has put his scoring boots back on and has been in top form in the league this season. Since the restart of the league in January end, the 36-year-old has bagged himself four goals in three appearances, establishing himself as the top goal scorer of the league with 11 goals in 15 matches. The Fijian will especially be keen to impress against his former side as Mohun Bagan Super Giant visit the Kalinga stadium in MW16.

Sunil Chhetri (Bengaluru FC): The Bengaluru FC skipper will be desperate to find the back of the net in their must-win game against Hyderabad FC in Matchweek 16 to keep his team’s playoff qualification chances alive. The 39-year-old has been the most important figure in Bengaluru FC’s frontline this season with four goals and three assists to his name. With Hyderabad FC struggling for form, ISL Fantasy managers can bank on Chhetri to rack up the points in MW16.

Top differential picks for Matchweek 16

Tomi Juric (NorthEast United FC): The Australian forward has been the most impactful winter signing in the league this season. Juric has only made three appearances for the Highlanders since his arrival in January 2024 and has already bagged himself four goals, scoring braces in his last two games. Owned by just 1% of ISL fantasy managers, Juric has a very high differential potential

Carlos Martinez (FC Goa): The Spaniard is currently the top scorer for the Gaurs with five goals to his name and an assist. Martinez has bagged himself two goals already since the league season resumed and is set to take his tally higher by utilising the two fixtures that FC Goa have in hand in Matchweek 16. Owned by just 3% of ISL Fantasy managers, Martinez is a top differential pick for MW16.

Iker Guarrotxena (Mumbai City FC): Arriving from Real Murcia in the mid-season winter transfer window, the Spaniard has been an instrumental figure in the Mumbai City FC frontline. In his three games since his return to India, Guarrotxena has already opened his account by scoring the winner against East Bengal FC in Matchweek 14 and then to back it up further, the 31-year-old assisted Vikram Partap Singh with a pinpoint cross in the next game. With an ownership percentage of less than 1, Guarrotxena is a player that you must own as soon as possible.

Captaincy Choice: Noah Sadaoui (FC Goa)

The FC Goa playmaker has already found the back of the net on four occasions in the league this season with an assist to follow. With two games knocking at their door in Matchweek 16, the 30-year-old will look to create a significant impact on the team in their pursuit of the League Shield.
