Matchweek 21 of the Indian Super League (ISL) was filled with thrill and excitement as the League Shield race was reduced to a two-horse competition between Mumbai City FC and Mohun Bagan SG. On the other hand, with Jamshedpur FC, Bengaluru FC, NorthEast United FC, and Punjab FC out of contention, the top-six race has been narrowed down to Chennaiyin FC and East Bengal FC.

With FC Goa, NorthEast United FC, Chennaiyin FC, and Jamshedpur FC all taking the pitch twice during the penultimate matchweek of the ISL 2023-24 season, managers were handsomely rewarded by the players from these teams.

With the final week of the ISL 2023-24 season’s league stage already underway, let’s take a look at the top five highest points scorers from Matchweek 21.

Noah Sadaoui (FC Goa) - 26 points

Sadaoui stole the spotlight in Matchweek 21, scoring a remarkable hat-trick in their first match against Hyderabad FC, followed by another goal in their second game of the week against Jamshedpur FC, helping the Gaurs secure all six possible points from the matchweek. With four goals and an assist in two matches, the midfielder racked up the highest number of points in MW 21, which was also the highest point total by a player in a single week this season.

After a vulnerable start to the second half of the league season, Sadaoui has been pivotal in his team’s strong comeback, where the Gaurs bagged seven goals in two matches this week. He also became the first player to register 100 points in the fantasy league.

Rei Tachikawa (Jamshedpur FC) - 14 points

The Japanese midfielder has shown impressive potential right from the start of the season, representing the Men of Steel.

In Matchweek 21, the 26-year-old scored two goals, one in each match. Although Jamshedpur FC had their playoff dreams shattered due to two losses this week, Tachikawa was a silver lining in both of their last two league matches.

Carlos Martinez (FC Goa) - 12 points

Finding the back of the net in both fixtures of Matchweek 21, Martinez has led the FC Goa frontline with utmost maturity and responsibility.

The Spaniard has been a constant threat to his opponents, forcing opposition defenders into making mistakes and increasing his goal tally to eight with his double this week.

Hamza Regragui (NorthEast United FC) - 12 points

Regragui played 60 minutes against Kerala Blasters FC, where the Highlanders finished the match with a 2-0 win and a clean sheet. He completed 23 out of his 28 attempted passes, registering a passing accuracy of 82%. He also made a significant interception to break a Blasters’ attack.

Playing another 62 minutes against Chennaiyin FC, the Moroccan managed a crucial clean sheet, as he was subbed off before the Highlanders conceded their first goal against the Marina Machans.

Although NorthEast United FC has stepped out of the playoffs race, Regragui’s performance was noteworthy in both their matches.

Jithin MS (NorthEast United FC) - 11 points

Jithin has been the primary firepower in NorthEast United FC’s arsenal, scoring goals in both matches that NorthEast United FC played this week.

Although his performance this week has been nothing less than brilliant, scoring two goals and spearheading his team to a big win against Kerala Blasters FC, NorthEast United FC’s failure to make it into the top-six would be disappointing for the fifth-highest fantasy scorer of Matchweek 21.

Michel Zabaco, alongside FC Goa duo Brandon Fernandes and Mohammad Yasir, also racked up 11 points each in Matchweek 21.
