In the 18th Matchweek of the Indian Super League (ISL) fantasy, three teams – Punjab FC, Mumbai City FC, and NorthEast United FC – played double fixtures, providing a strategic opportunity for fantasy managers. Those who wisely selected players from these teams reaped the rewards in terms of points. Notably, the top five highest-scoring players in this Matchweek belonged to Punjab FC and Mumbai City FC.

Madih Talal, a player with the highest ownership (13 percent) from Punjab FC, delivered double-digit points, complemented by the performance of teammate Wilmar Jordan Gil, who also scored big. Additionally, Mumbai City FC forward Lallianzuala Chhangte, too contributed with a double-digit points tally.

With the top five highest point scorers list consisting only of Punjab FC and Mumbai City FC, here’s a look at them.

Wiilmar Jordan Gil (Punjab FC) - 14 points

Gil, who boasted a mere 1 percent ownership among ISL Fantasy managers, delivered an exceptional performance during the Matchweek. Across two games, he showcased his prowess with two goals and an assist. In the encounter against Mumbai City FC, he not only found the back of the net but also played a pivotal role in Madih Talal's goal, accumulating a total of nine points against the Islanders.

In the subsequent match against NorthEast United FC, Gil secured the sole goal of the game by successfully converting from the spot, despite receiving a yellow card, earning five points. This remarkable display marked the second instance in Matchweek 18 where he achieved double-digit scores, having previously accomplished the feat in Matchweek 15.

Madih Talal (Punjab FC) - 12 points

Talal, the highest-owned player in the Punjab FC squad, once again justified his popularity among fantasy managers. Despite not making any goal contributions in his team's victory over NorthEast United FC, he earned three points, which included a point for a clean sheet.

However, Talal truly stood out in the preceding match against Mumbai City FC, where he garnered nine points. In this game, he not only scored an impressive goal but also played a key role in setting up Gil's goal. Remarkably, in the past five Matchweeks, Talal has consistently delivered stellar performances, achieving double-digit scores on four separate occasions.

Lallianzuala Chhangte (Mumbai City FC) - 12 points

Chhangte, who emerged as the highest-scoring Indian player in the previous season, appears to be rediscovering his goal-scoring prowess. He showcased this revival by scoring in both of Mumbai City FC's fixtures against Punjab FC and Jamshedpur FC, accumulating a total of six points across both games. In the recent match against Jamshedpur FC, Chhangte led the line in the absence of the injured Iker Guarrotxena. This development could be promising for the 10 percent of fantasy managers who have Chhangte in their team.

Ravi Kumar (Punjab FC) - 9 points

Kumar emerged as the highest-scoring keeper of the Matchweek, accumulating a commendable nine points. Despite conceding three goals in Punjab FC's match against Mumbai City FC, Kumar showcased his shot-stopping quality by making six saves, earning three points in that particular game.

In the subsequent fixture against NorthEast United FC, Kumar didn't accumulate save points but managed to maintain a clean sheet, adding six points to his tally for the Matchweek and securing the top spot among the top five highest point-scorers.

Iker Guarrotxena (Mumbai City FC) - 9 points

Guarrotxena made a singular appearance for Mumbai City FC in their game against Punjab FC during Matchweek 18, only to be substituted in the 82nd minute due to an injury. Unfortunately, this injury ruled him out for the subsequent match against Jamshedpur FC, with Mumbai City FC later confirming that he would be unavailable for the rest of the season.

Nevertheless, the Spaniard proved to be a rewarding pick for the 1 percent of fantasy managers who took a chance on him in Matchweek 18. Despite the limited playing time, Guarrotxena contributed significantly with a goal and an assist against Punjab FC. This marked the second occasion in the season that he achieved double-digit scores, the first being in Matchweek 15 when Mumbai City FC faced East Bengal FC and Bengaluru FC.
