ISL Fantasy: Highest point scorers from Matchweek 1
With Matchweek 1 of ISL fantasy having now concluded, let’s check out the highest scorers from the week.
After a long wait, Indian Super League (ISL) football is finally back, and the introduction of the new revamped ISL fantasy game made the start of the ISL 2023-24 season even more exciting. The opening week saw a total of 12 goals being scored, with an average of 2.4 goals per match.
The game between Hyderabad FC and FC Goa from Matchweek One was postponed earlier and will now be played at a later date. ISL Fantasy managers have recorded some high-point hauls thanks to the outstanding scoring by their fantasy assets.
Let’s find out the top five ISL fantasy scorers from Matchweek One.
1. Jorge Pereyra Diaz (Mumbai City FC) – 10 Points
What a game he had; the Argentine forward was spot on in the game, and he could do nothing wrong against NorthEast United FC that day. Diaz netted a brace and could have scored a hat-trick if he had taken his chances. He recorded the highest fantasy point total of 10 points in ISL Matchweek 1.
2. Adrian Luna (Kerala Blasters FC) – 9 Points
The most-picked ISL fantasy asset didn't disappoint his managers. With a goal and an assist against their rivals Bengaluru FC, Luna racked up a total of nine points from the opening fixture of the league. He and Daisuke Sakai dominated the midfield, and the Blasters' midfield looked so fluid that ISL fantasy managers might be tempted to have more KBFC players on their team.
3. Dimitri Petratos (Mohun Bagan Super Giant) – 9 Points
Petratos, the highest-priced ISL fantasy asset, underlined his credentials with a goal and an assist against Punjab FC in the opening week of the ISL 2023-24 season. The Australian forward has picked up his form from where he left off last season and had a 9-point haul.
4. Amey Ranawade (Odisha FC) – 8 Points
Priced at just 4.5 Crores, Ranawade could be one of the best-value deals going forward. Playing under his former manager, the right-back made good runs down the right, creating many chances and providing an assist to Jerry Mawihmingthanga. With a clean sheet and the assist points, Ranawade racked up eight points in the opening matchweek.
5. Rehenesh TP (Jamshedpur FC) – 7 Points
After missing several games due to injury, Rehenesh is back in goal as the first-choice goalkeeper under new head coach Scott Cooper. The shot-stopper had a solid game against East Bengal FC, where he made some terrific saves to help his side maintain a clean sheet in a tough away fixture against the Red and Gold Brigade. With a clean sheet and a save point, Rehenesh earned seven points in total.
